Phonics resources

Below are a few of the teacher resources used in school to support the teaching of phonics. They are all in Publisher 2000 format, or Publisher 2000. You're welcome to download them, adapt them, and use them in your class. Page created by: Sir Robert Hitcham's Primary School

PowerPoint Spellings
Use on an interactive whiteboard for spellings with the whole class or groups on a computer. Children try and write their spellings on a small whiteboard.
Word Wheels
Cut out the two wheels, use a split pin to join them together, and start making words.
Word Cards
Sets of flashcards that can be used for anything: writing into the children's own spelling books, writing and drawing using 2Publish from 2Simple.
Phonix
Use with the wonderful Phonix cubes to build words.
Onset & Rime books
Print out on paper, fold in half, and half again along the lines, fold in the last third, staple and cut along the top and bottom to make an onset and rime book.
Card slots
Print out on card. Cut out the card, the slots and the strip, insert the strip into the slots, and make your won words.
