Intel® Teach Essentials Online

Intel® Teach Essentials Online combines both face to face workshops with a significant online component to provide teachers with a foundation of skills to fully integrate ICT into existing classroom curricula and promote student-centred learning.

The teacher undergoes 40 hours of Master Training. This involves:

* two hours of online course orientation
* two days (14 hours) of face to face training on the dates listed below.
* 24 hours online facilitated by a Senior Trainer.

On their return to their home school, the Master Trainers trains ten participant teachers at their home school or cluster of schools (in the case of small schools).

The program which is accredited by the Institute of Teachers:

· is an excellent way to meet professional learning needs

* has a whole school approach
* incorporates the Quality Teaching Framework

· is designed to support teachers in the integration of ICT into the teacher’s classroom, but not to increase their workload

* provides high quality staff training of Master Trainers at no cost to the school
* results in a significant increase for staff in ICT skills and confidence to embed a greater variety of ICT applications into class learning
* provides support for initiatives such as Connected Classrooms and Laptops for Learning.

The two day face to face component of the course will be run at:

· Wyong High School on Thursday 4 and Friday 5 June

· Lismore DET Office Goonellabah on Monday 6 and Tuesday 7 July.
